WASHINGTON - 10 members of the American University volleyball team have been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, conference officials announced Wednesday. Senior Logan Striebel earned the third honor of her career while juniors Christina Nash and Rubena Sukaj also picked up their third academic award from the conference.
Nash, a business administration major, led all Eagles with a 3.94 GPA in the fall semester. Striebel achieved a 3.88 GPA in public communications while Sukaj earned a 3.20 in business administration.
Sophomores Ann Recht and Claire Recht were named to the honor roll for the second-consecutive year. Both middle blockers major in business administration and last semester each earned a 3.80 GPA.
Chelsa Brooks (3.74, psychology), Katerina Cinkova (3.63, international studies), Deborah Frantz (3.78, environmental studies), Sarah Jankowitz (3.68, international studies) and Cassandra Ricketts (3.79, chemistry) were each named to the PL Academic Honor Roll for the first time.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the fall semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League's seven fall championship sports.
