AU Wrestling and Duke Ranked No. 1 Academically by NWCA
The American University wrestling team has been recognized by the National Wrestling Coaches Association as the 2007-08 champions of the classroom, having attained the highest team grade point average of Division I wrestling programs, association officials announced Thursday. The wrestling team is the first in AU school history to have the highest team GPA in their respective sport. The team also has achieved NWCA Team Academic All-America status for the third-consecutive year and had four individuals earn Academic All-America status.
